Lent is about growing deeper in our relationship with Jesus. Fasting, prayer and almsgiving are the three pillars to draw our attention to that relationship. Fasting can be taking ourselves away from small habits and then focusing more on our prayer time with Jesus. Sometimes having a tangible items such as a prayer journal can help us focus on the intention of the Lenten season.
